Studying:
Studying pressure
How many hours per day to study?
Class hour*2. Suppose I have 2 classes per day, and each class is 1.5 hours, then I will need extra 6 hours to study. Extremely hard to get very high GPA at BU.
School facilities (library, gym)
There is one main library at central campus, and each school/department has its own library.
School life (canteen, restaurants nearby, cafe, car park, transportation)
More than 5 dining halls and tons of restaurants/cafe on and around campus. Many parking lots on campus that students can get permits, yet parking could still be an issue, especially during baseball game season (red socks stadium is just few blocks away from our east campus). Pretty convenient to take public transportation- green line (train), bus, and campus shuttle for free.
School (career fair, writing center)
BU offers career fair more than twice a year- great opportunities for students who are seeking interns/jobs during summer or after graduation. Writing center is very helpful. BU has pretty good writing program. You can always sign online and get tutors to review your paper. You can even sign for individual tutors who will help with your writing throughout the semester.
Accommodation/ renting (student acc, rent house hint...)
Either on-campus and off-campus housing fee is high.
Living in the city:
Cost (living cost, school fee and so on)
Living cost in Boston would be less than those big cities, such as NYC, LA, SF…Yet more expensive than most of the middle-scale cities.
Tuition is pretty expensive since BU is a private institution and it doesn’t offer scholarships to international students.
Environment (city/town/takeaway restaurants/club/shopping/sports etc.)
Pretty good. Walkable city. Safe, convenient, you can find almost everything you need within 30 mins walking distance.
